How to implement Six Sigma principle in a project?

With a focused approach to meet customer requirements and enhancing customer retention, Six Sigma professionals help businesses grow. A global standard that offers quality principles that are valid across all the industries leads to statistical enhancement throughout the project.

As a Six Sigma professional, you are supposed to mentor statistics, financial analysis and project management to upscaling the performance of the business.

Implementation of Six Sigma

The principle of Six Sigma is based on five rules

•    define

•    measure

•    analyze

•    improve

•    control

It is a framework that helps Six Sigma professional identify a problem and resolve it with further prevention measure.

Define:

Led by a Six Sigma professional, the team is guided to define and identify a process that is leading to errors and quality issues. This is achieved by finding out the gap between the goals and the deliveries the team is making. Any deviation is identified as a process miss and needs attention.

Measure:

The performance of the team is measured in a statistical manner to identify the deviations. Benchmarking the performance ensures fewer errors. A continuous monitoring is required to measure the issues.

Analyze

Once the problem is measured, the team sits and analyzes the issues by micro-analyzing each input. Each failure point is identified to know the root cause of the problem. The fix is identified for each issue.

Improve

Once the issue is identified, the process improvement strategies are put in place to be implemented so that the issues are rectified.

Control

Control process beings right from the step one where the entire process starts.

As a Six Sigma professional one is expected to lead a team and make the process error proof.
